Every student will receive two kits that Holy Cross Energy is donating. Using one kit, the students will perform solar photovoltaic exercises that will allow them to experiment with solar energy and learn how solar can operate different small motors. The other kit will allow students to build a small wind generator that will generate enough energy to run a small fan motor. 20470 MTWThF 9a-12p 6/24-6/28 GW Tate Cost: $65 Refund: 6/21 HANDMADE JOURNALS (FOR 10-15 YEAR OLDS) "Junk journals" are fun and can be anything you want them to be. Join the crew! Heal the Earth with your own hands, in concert with your community. Permaculture is a sustainable design system for creating regenerative human environments where people create abundance of food, medicine and community by working with, rather than against, Nature. Coursework includes an overview of permaculture principles and lots of hands-on experience observing and working with living permaculture systems throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Students learn from a diversity of world-class permaculture practitioners and apply what they learn to design a real space in our area. (Suitable farming or gardening sites will be provided to students.) After completion of both courses, students will receive the internationally-recognized Permaculture Design Certificate: your ticket to working on organic farms anywhere in the world. These courses are part of our bachelor's degree program in Sustainability Studies, but they are open to community members as well as degree seekers.
